The department, the missions and a sustainable future
AAU defines itself as a mission driven university. The faculty of Engineering and Science has a clear focus on the green transition of society, and the faculty recognizes that fundamental science subjects are essential for the success of this transition.

Our department can in some cases address missions of AAU / ENG directly, but in most cases we contribute indirectly through our participation in a wide range of research projects hosted in other scientific communities.

Likewise, our department is dedicated to contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our contributions are often not directly visible as they are found in connection with research and development projects in other areas of science.
