On the distribution of sequences of the form (q_n y)
The distribution of sequences of the form (q_n x) with (q_n) a sequence of integers and x a real number have attracted quite a bit of attention, for instance due to their relation to inhomogeneous Littlewood type problems, but also because of connections with other interesting problems in number theory and ergodic theory. In this talk, we will provide some results on the Lebesgue measure and Hausdorff dimension on the set of points in the unit interval approximated to a certain rate by points from such a sequence. We will also show how this connects to other problems. This is mostly joint work with Tomas Persson.
